Recall Troops to Repel Illegal Invasion, Immigration Reformers Urge

"The
Canadian government should bring back our troops from peacekeeping missions
in Bosnia, Cyprus and elsewhere and deploy them on the West Coast to assist
in interdicting the flotilla of boats carrying Chinese illegals, Paul Fromm,
Director of the Canada First Immigration Reform Committee (CFIRC) urged
today in Toronto.
"The chief role for the military is to protect a country's borders, its sovereignty," Fromm stated. "Canada's borders and physical integrity are being challenged by a foreign invasion organized by criminal Chinese gangsters or 'snakeheads'," he charged.
"This is a state of emergency. Not since 1941-42, when Japanese submarines fired shells at Vancouver Island and incendiary balloons were unleashed on the West Coast has Canada been so under attack," Fromm explained. "Indeed, not since the War of 1812, when American troops burned York (later to be Toronto) has Canada's territorial integrity been so challenged," he explained.

"Canada's armed forces are needed to protect our borders more than they're needed to meddle in East Timor, " Fromm said. "Canada is under attack," said Fromm. "Canada is the target of what amounts to a foreign invasion meticulously planned by Chinese gangsters," he explained. "This is the largest landing of foreign nationals since before Confederation, since the War of 1812!" he charged. "Every available ship and plane must be concentrated off the B.C. coast to interdict and apprehend the invaders."
"Troops are needed too," he added.
The Globe and Mail (September 4, 1999) revealed: "Police believe that six ships have landed undetected on the B.C. coast in the past two years." Parts of Vancouver Island and the Queen Charlottes are ideal for the snakeheads and their onshore accomplices because of their "ocean access and intricate network of logging roads that provide a surreptitious route to many remote beaches."
"The
troops must stay home," said Fromm. "This is a job for the Canadian
Army to patrol these likely targets to interdict the snakeheads and, thereby,
send a message to these gangsters and their accomplices in North America
that, henceforth, they'll be up against our Army."
"The first priority of any armed forces is to protect its country's borders," Fromm emphasized. "All else is secondary. Let regional forces sort out the mayhem in East Timor. We can discharge our international and humanitarian obligations by sending emergency aid. "
"National security and our border's integrity require that our troops remain at home on guard for us," the 50 year old author said today in Toronto.
